Your Kitty Needs A Cat Carrier

If you are planning to take your kitty on a trip, a cat carrier is vital. While some are expensive, others such as cardboard models are affordable.  Discover why you need to keep kitty confined when you are traveling.

Your pet’s safety is a primary concern.  Pets that aren’t confined can be injured during quick stops or even thrown from the vehicle.  Your animal could also strike you causing you to be hurt, too. A cat running loose could prove a distraction from your driving.  For example, the feline could panic and need to be restrained while you are driving down the road.  It could also get under your feet and cause you to not be able to accelerate or brake at a critical moment.  You may like having your pet in your lap, but remember that a deployed airbag could quickly end your pet’s life.

Comfort is also a concern.  Kitties prefer enclosed spaces when they are in unfamiliar territory.  They will be more comfortable and possibly sleep on longer trips.  They also aren’t as likely to see a dog or other sight out the window that throws them into a panic.

Messes are another issue.  Unfortunately, some kitties get stressed when in the car.  This could cause vomiting, urinating or bowel movements.  The mess is much easier to clean up if it is confined to the pet carrier rather than ending up in your car’s carpet.  You are likely to not have as much fur flying around your vehicle, too.

Transportation once you leave the car is also important.  Kitty might not be easy to carry, especially if you are going somewhere like the vet.  He or she could also get away from you and end up lost.

If you have several animals that need to be transported at once, you will want carriers for all of them.  This will avoid fights while driving down the road if they are loose or even housed in the same crate.  You also won’t have to worry about them hurting each other in case of an accident.

A cat carrier is critical for your pet’s safety and comfort as well as to help you confine any messes that may occur while you are on the road.  The ride will be safer for the humans in the vehicle, too.
